Better man cards
The man card. It’s how we certify manhood, keeping score of what is and isn’t manly. But why do man cards get taken away for manscaping, but not for mansplaining?
Finally, man cards that matter.
In 2019, we partnered with The Betterman Movement to host the the Betterman Conference at the Hearst Building.
We decided to create a set of mindful insights, actions, and game plans to bring it back to what it really means to be a man: someone who values inclusivity and diversity, and is an ally to women, in the office and anywhere else.
The Better man cards deck includes 45 cards and 0 bias, and help redefine what it is to:
Talk like a man
Talking like a man doesn’t have to mean being aggressive, dominating, or belittling in a super deep voice.
It means being inclusive, patient, and unbiased in any voice you have.
covers: sweet talking, mansplaining, gender-biased vocab, trash talk, sexist jokes.
Act like a man
Acting like a man doesn’t have to mean doing yardwork, and expecting women to do the housework.
It means having an equal share and care in any office upkeep task.
covers: note-taking, office housekeeping, planning events.
Think like a man
Thinking like a man doesn’t have to mean being superior, thinking that all things must have all emotions removed, ‘cause that’s a “women’s thing.”
It means being encouraging, supportive, and inclusive.
covers: interrupting, giving credit, supporting, inclusion, leadership.
